The Sepia Tone VI Marble is the marbled version of the standard VI model.  Its original design, for nearly a decade of production, featured a gold-plated brass shank ring on the marbled ebonite body.  However, after recent testing and development, we have found that pure copper significantly outperforms brass, and have updated the mouthpiece with a copper shank ring.  The new VI Marble is now more responsive than before and has a much smoother, darker tone.

A unique and fascinating quality of Copper is how quickly and extensively it tarnishes.  Under the right conditions and with enough time, the freshly-polished pink color will soon become reddish-orange, then brown, and eventually even a bluish-green.  On the marbled ebonite body, this color-changing copper shank ring gives the mouthpiece a beautiful aged appearance, making the Sepia Tone VI Marble both look and feel exquisitely vintage.

I originally made this model simply to pursue the beauty of the mouthpiece; it did not cross my mind to introduce this mouthpiece as a Gottsu model. However, many professional saxophone artists tested and enjoyed it, and they wanted to have one of their own. Therefore, I decided to introduce it as a new Gottsu model. The design is the same as the Sepia Tone VI, but some changes have been made in order to accommodate the marbled material and brass ring.
